James Van Der Beek's widow breaks silence 3 months after actor's death
James Van Der Beek died of colorectal cancer on February 11, 2026
James Van Der Beek’s wife, Kimberly, is remembering the actor three months after his death.
“To say I’m heartbroken is a severe understatement,” the film producer penned on her Instagram handle on Tuesday alongside photos of James and their kids.
She further wrote, “Words just don’t capture what grief is. The comforts of shock have worn off. The reality is settling in … and I miss him. We all miss him.”
"There is a different kind of magic in the air," Kimberly continued. “I feel him. I know him more deeply. My conscious connection to God has deepened.”

Kimberly also expressed gratitude for the support she and her family have received following James' passing.
"The outpouring of support has been tremendous," she penned. "It's held our family in the most beautiful of ways. You all went absolutely above and beyond anything I could have ever expected in supporting us and honoring James."
"I am deeply grateful. There is so much more to share here. And in time- I will," concluded Kimberly.
Kimberly exchanged vows with James in 2010. She shared six kids with the actor - Olivia, Annabel, Emilia, Gwendolyn, Joshua, and Jeremiah.
For those unversed, the Varsity Blues star breathed his last on February 11, 2026, after losing a battle with colorectal cancer. He was 48.
