Former Duke of York Andrew will give evidence via video link after Alex Jenkinson pleads not guilty to using threatening or abusive words against him.
According to a report by the Reuters, the British man pleaded not guilty on Friday to using threatening or abusive words against King Charles' younger brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor close to his home in eastern England.
Alex Jenkinson, 39, denied threatening behaviour towards him with intent to cause fear of unlawful violence when he appeared by video link at London's Westminster Magistrates' Court.
Earlier, the police said they were called on Wednesday to a report of a man behaving in an intimidating manner in the village of Wolferton, in the county of Norfolk, near the king's Sandringham estate.
Norfolk police confirmed they had been called to an incident late Wednesday near the Sandringham Estate "and the man was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and possession of an offensive weapon".
UK media reported that a man wearing a balaclava had allegedly threatened Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, when he was out walking his dogs in the eastern Sandringham area.
Commenting on the report, royal expert Matt Wilkinson tweeted, “New: Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor likely to give evidence via video link after Alex Jenkinson, 39, pleads not guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear or provoke unlawful violence. Trial set for July 29.”
