England: Search operations underway as two dead, three injured after explosion in Bristol
As reported by officials, a man and a woman have died after a suspicious explosion at a house in Bristol, south England
Search operations are still underway in South England after police declared a major domestic incident in Bristol on Sunday morning.
Two people died and three others, including a child, suffered minor injuries due to an explosion at a house in Bristol.
As reported by officials, a man and a woman have died after a suspicious explosion at a house in Bristol, south England.
Police declared it a major incident, but they were not treating it as a suspected terrorist event as Avon and Somerset Police Superintendent Matt Ebbs later described it as a domestic-related incident.
“A woman and a man have died at the address, and we’re treating the explosion as suspicious. Their families have been updated and are being supported by specially trained officers. Our thoughts are very much with them."
Officers are also carrying out inquiries at a property in Bristol linked to the explosion, and while they were at an early stage, the authorities at this point were not looking for anyone else in connection with the explosion, the police said in a statement.
Police said there seemed to be no significant damage to other properties.
Officials said this remains a complex and sensitive investigation and continue to provide updates as and when they are available.
The cordon surrounding the property is expected to be in place until at least Sunday evening, as people living within the cordon were evacuated to a temporary rest center.
