Renowned Indian singer Asha Bhosle has passed away hours after being moved to a hospital on Saturday, NDTV has reported.
The 92-year-old singer had suffered a cardiac arrest and was receiving medical care before she succumbed to the condition.
Hours prior to her demise, her family revealed in statement that the reason behind her hospitalisation was "extreme exhaustion" and "chest infection".
"We request you to value our privacy. Treatment is ongoing and hopefully everything will be well and we shall update you positively," Bhosle's granddaughter wrote further in the announcement shared on April 11.
While details remained limited about her condition at the time, some reports indicated that her condition was critical.
