QUETTA: Congo virus has been reported in Balochistan as a 12 year old girl suffering from Congo fever was brought to Fatima Jinnah TB Sanatorium Hospital in Quetta from Ziarat hill station for medical treatment.
The doctors at the hospital said that the girl was admitted to isolation ward of the hospital where she was provided medical treatment.
The laboratory tests confirmed the presence of Congo virus in the girl.
All facilities are available at isolation ward of the hospital to treat Congo virus said Dr. Taj Raisani the Medical Superintendent of Fatima Jinnah TB Sanatorium Hospital Quetta.
Isolation ward is completely functional and patients are provided all required and necessary medicines.
He emphasized the need to raise awareness among people about the dangers of Congo virus.
The government departments concerned and the civil society should play its due role to raise awareness in this regard he said.
The doctors said that the condition of the Ziarat’s girl was out of danger.
They said that presently three patients were admitted to the isolation ward of the hospital on a suspicion that they might be suffering from Congo virus.
We are conducting laboratory test of these three patients, they said.
