Sarah Ferguson seeks Hollywood backing as Epstein files resurface
Sarah Ferguson looks to Hollywood as Jeffrey Epstein scandal shadows her past
Sarah Ferguson reportedly tried to push her historical romance novel, Heart for a Compass, into Hollywood just as scrutiny over her ties to Jeffrey Epstein intensified.
An insider revealed to Radar Online that the former Duchess of York pitched the book as a potential TV or streaming series while portraying herself as a victim of Epstein.
She even went so far ahead that she casted her ex-husband Andrew as the one responsible for her connections with the convicted sex offender, the source added.
"She was asking for some of us to push for Heart For A Compass to be presented to networks and streamers as their 'next serious hit,' as a cross between Bridgerton and The Crown," an insider said.
They added that she'd “had it rewritten and repitched, and was asking for any connects to take on the project. Everyone was very cautious."
The source said Fergie tried to get NBC, HBO, or Netflix to take on the project but all her effort went vain.
Ferguson also told friends in New York and Los Angeles that she had been “misled by Epstein” and asked them to vouch for her.
The source further shared that the “disgraced” ex-royal hoped it would help her get meetings with executives to turn her novel into a TV show.
They said, “Somehow Fergie wanted people who have worked with her, or social friends, to go into bat for her."
“She wanted some of us to actually vouch for her with businesses, media companies, and some non-profits to not only assure them she was being misrepresented by the Epstein Files, but [that she] herself was some kind of ‘casualty of wrongdoing.'"
