Global music icon Julio Iglesias faces abuse allegations from former employees
Julio Iglesias has been hit with shocking accusations of sexual abuse.
According to a report by elDiario.es and US broadcaster Univision, the Spanish music icon has been accused of sexually abusing two women, who worked as live-in employees at Julio's Caribbean residences. The incidents reportedly took place in 2021 at the singer's properties in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and Layford Cay in the Bahamas.
One of the women claims she was repeatedly pressured for having sex with Julio Iglesias, who was 77 at the time. She also alleged a pattern of slapping, verbal abuse and humiliation. Furthermore, describing the environment as of control and fear.
"He used me almost every night. I felt like an object, like a slave," she claimed, as per the outlet.
On the other hand, another women, who worked as physiotherapist, alleges that she was subjected to unwanted kissing and inappropriate touching, insults and also degrading treatment during her time of working with the singer.
It is pertinent to mention that Julio and his legal representatives have not responded to media outlets' request to comment. But, a former supervisor, who was named by one of the accusers have reportedly dismissed the accusations.
The former supervisor described Julio Iglesias as "humble, generous, a great gentleman, and very respectful to all women."
