Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s tragic life after being stripped of privileges comes out
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s life behind the former glamour of being a royal comes to light
Living stripped of his royal title, privileges and military honors seems have deeply effected Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, so much so that experts have started to question how he ever spends his time on a day to day.
The Sun’s royal editor Matt Wilkinson is that expert in question and he posed this question during an interview on the Royal Confidential podcast.
In it he spoke of the life Andrew is living since he was stripped down back in 2025 and said, “It also makes me wonder what he’s actually doing. We only ever see him horse-riding.”
Because “there was a long article in the Telegraph this week — my colleague Hannah wrote a really good piece asking what he actually does. I think she described him as a bit of a couch potato, sitting at Royal Lodge watching television. I think he used to watch flights, tracking them on flight radar. What does he do now if he can’t go shooting?”
Royal correspondent for Five News, Simon Vigar, chimed in with what he considers to be the answer to the ex-Duke’s life behind the scenes.
According to Express he admitted that Andrew has “lots of time to fill” in his day now.
While he also admits, “there is obviously an element of tragedy. I don’t expect people to feel sympathetic for him, but there is a tragic element to this,” he feels.
“In happier days, he was known as the Duke of Golf. I’m not sure how many golf clubs he’s a member of anymore. But it’s a lot of time to fill,” he said before signing off.
There are also separate reports that warn the Duke is currently feeling the brunt of isolation because “nobody visits him anymore” and it makes him feel “abandoned and embittered.”
