What does Taywag mean for Taylor Swift?
Taylor Swift on Thursday attended Kansas City Chiefs game featuring her fiancé Travis Kelce
Taylor Swift on Thursday attended the Kansas City Chiefs' Christmas Day game against the Denver Broncos.
The singer made the appearance amid speculation over fiancé Travis Kelce's retirement.
Thousands of fans took to social media and dubbed the moment "Taywag", a playful blend of "Tay" (her nickname) and "WAG" (wives and girlfriends of athletes), as she cheered from a suite at Arrowhead Stadium.
The term, coined by Swifties on social media since 2023, celebrates her stylish "football girlfriend" era.
Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce got engaged in August 2025. No wedding date was announced.
Swift has won 14 Grammys, including an unparalleled four album of the year trophies.
Kelce is a tight end who has helped the Chiefs win three Super Bowls and made his career catching passes from star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
The two started dating in 2023 after the singer performed at Arrowhead Stadium - home of the Chiefs.
Kelce explained on the "New Heights" podcast at the time that he was disappointed he did not have a chance to meet her and give her his phone number at the show.
