Meghan, Prince Harry actively developing feature film about Princess Diana: 'Potential royal blockbuster'
"Meghan is intensely hands-on and wants control from start to finish"
California-based royal couple Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are actively developing a feature film about Princess Diana, the mother of the Duke and Prince William.
Meghan, quietly but decisively, positioning herself to take the director’s chair for Diana film.
This has been claimed by royal expert Rob Shuter while writing for his substack.
Citing the royal insiders, Rob claims, “They’ve been meeting with writers, agents and producers, breaking story and talking casting. Meghan is intensely hands-on and wants control from start to finish.”
The sources further said despite Archewell’s previous projects failing to set the streamer on fire, Netflix is said to be playing a longer, shinier game.
The insider admits, “Their earlier shows underperformed, but a Diana project changes everything.”
Streaming giant Netflix views the film as a potential royal blockbuster — something with the emotional punch to rival the couple’s explosive Oprah interview, the insider said and adds, “This could be the crown jewel.”
One exec source says, “It’s the one project that could make the entire deal worth it.”
About the role of Prince Harry in the film, the insiders say his part is more strategic than creative, guiding the emotional authenticity while Meghan shapes the final vision.
The close confidant further says while the public watches Meghan and Harry past projects quietly fade, the real power play is happening behind the scenes — the Diana story, told on their terms, under Meghan’s watchful eye.
