Kate Hudson gets honest about finding peace: 'So convoluted'
Kate Hudson finally lifts the curtain on finding peace in a fast-paced life
Kate Hudson has finally revealed how she became successful in finding peace.
For those unaware, the 46-year-old American actress and singer has had an exceptionally busy year, as she starred in multiple projects, from playing Isla Gordon in Netflix’s comedy series Running Point to her intense portrayal in the recently released musical biopic Song Sung Blue.
While conversing with PEOPLE magazine about finding peace in a highly dynamic year, Hudson shared, “There’s a great quote that I love, and I say it all the time. It’s called, ‘Contentment is a discipline.'"
She explained, “The things that have made me feel at peace aren’t things that come easy. They’re things that become a part of how you choose to live.”
The Deepwater Horizon star went on to confess that feeling at peace “comes from feeling liberated,” which ultimately “comes from having less attachment to things and expectations of things.”
“Once you let go of your attachment and expectations that things are supposed to be a certain way, you can find much more peace in your life,” Hudson stated.
However, she finds attachments “hard” because “we're all so attached to the things, and we're all inundated with the way things are supposed to be or what they're supposed to look like. You actually have to actively work at detaching yourself from those things... It's not an easy thing to do.”
For the mother of three, meditation is the only solution to preserve peace of mind, as she articulated, “Some people think it's woo-woo, but actually, you start out [with] Buddhism, like actually meditating and actually taking time for yourself and tuning into yourself, what really, really matters is daily.”
“Daily is so important. It's so important because everything can be so convoluted. There's so much going on. It can feel incredibly overwhelming in this world right now,” Kate Hudson noted.
Before concluding, it is pertinent to mention that Song Sung Blue was released on December 25, 2025.
