Zooey Deschanel reveals fiancé Jonathan Scott’s compassionate side

Zooey Deschanel recently got candid and opened up about fiancé Jonathan Scott’s compassionate nature.

On Wednesday, December 14, the 45-year-old American actress and musician showed up on Call Her Daddy with Alex Cooper, where she talked about her engagement to Scott.

Deschanel, who got engaged to the famous Canadian TV personality in August 2023, revealed her fiancé ironed her clothes on the day he asked for her hand in marriage and did other surprising things, which forced her to think about what he had in store.

She went on to note that their relationship is filled with moments when she was sure he would get down on one knee but she proved her wrong.

However, they went to Scotland to spend time with their family, where Deschanel saw notes on the calendar that she found “funny,” explaining, "There were like all these things that I flagged, but didn't like... I just said like, 'That's weird.’”

The Happening star shared that some of the notes on the itinerary ahead of their visit to Edinburgh Castle included, "You might meet members of the royal family, so you can't wear a hat."

She recalled, "[The] royal family is obsessed with hats. Why can't I wear a hat? I'm always wearing a hat because I don't want sun. I'm terrified of the sun. And I'm like, 'that's so lame.'”

For their visit to the famous Edinburgh Castle, Scott asked her to “dress kind of nice,” so she "had a silk blouse and a silk skirt. And I just put them on.”

Notably, Deschanel’s outfit was slightly wrinkled because of staying too long in a suitcase, which the Property Brothers could not approve of and offered to iron her clothes.

"He's like, 'Oh, would you like to iron those?' And I was like, 'No.' I was like, 'Iron? That sounds terrible. That sounds like work that I don't want to do.' And he's like, 'I'll iron them,” the Elf actress noted.

It is pertinent to mention that Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott started dating in 2019 after their first interaction filming Carpool Karaoke.
