Rita Wilson is remembering her longtime pals Rob and Michele Reiner following their tragic death
The 69-year-old actress broke her silence over the passing of her late friends in a recent chat with Variety and paid a heartfelt tribute.
Rita, who shared screen with Rob in Mixed Nuts and Sleepless in Seattle, shared that the films that Rob made "will be there to experience over and over again," but “what can’t ever be experienced again is running into Rob and Michele in the neighborhood."
"And having a great laugh, or having dinner where Michele insists on having only one conversation," she continued, noting the couple was known for hosting “Bad Showbiz Night” parties, where guests used to bring their “worst showbiz moment and share it with a room full of luminaries, who also braved exposing their own.”
It is pertinent to mention that Rob and Michele were found dead inside their Los Angeles home on December 14. Their son Nick has been taken into custody and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
While remembering Michele, Wilson praised her saying she was “a talented photographer who had a keen eye in her work and in her life.”
Despite being the daughter of a holocaust survivor, Wilson said, "Michele found beauty every day.”
Sharing insights into the couple's family dynamic, Wilson wrote, “They loved their kids. Each one. They did everything right. They loved. They were loved."
“It’s hard to reconcile the goodness they offered to the world with this ending. It doesn’t make sense, but how they lived makes all the sense in the world,” Wilson concluded.
