Rob Reiner's daughter Tracy Reiner has released a statement following the tragic death of her father and his wife Michele Reiner.
Speaking to the NBC News, Rob Reiner’s adopted daughter from his marriage to ex-wife Penny Marshall, said she had just seen her father the day before for a family gathering.
Emotional Tracy Reiner said, “I came from the greatest family ever. I don’t know what to say. I’m in shock.”
Reiner and Michele were found dead in their Los Angeles mansion with what appeared to be stab wounds, US media reported Sunday.
According to the AFP, the American director and his wife were found dead at their southern California mansion.
Two people were found dead at the home of When Harry Met Sally and Princess Bride director Reiner, local broadcaster NBCLA and other media outlets reported.
The NBC media later cited a source close to the family, saying that the couple had been found dead of what appeared to be stab wounds.
Broadcaster CNN reported that a spokesperson for the family had confirmed Reiner and his wife had died.
Los Angeles police did not confirm the identity of the deceased but did say detectives were investigating a death.
"No one has been detained. No one is being interviewed as a suspect," said LAPD deputy chief Alan Hamilton.
"I´m not going to confirm whether someone´s being interviewed at this time or not. We´re going to try to speak to every family member that we can to get to the facts of this investigation," he added.
