JayDon reflects on his collaboration with Usher: 'Extremely meaningful'
JayDon has partnered with Usher and L.A. Reid’s label, Mega
JayDon Howard McCrary, who is famous as JayDon, recently got candid and revealed how he felt working with the R&B star Usher.
For those unaware, the 18-year-old budding R&B singer has accepted the deal of Usher and L.A. Reid’s label, Mega.
JayDon has also dropped his debut EP Me My Songs & I, which is making waves among the music lovers.
While conversing with PEOPLE magazine, the Los Angeles native talked about 2025, as it was filled with surprises, and also reflected on working with the 47-year-old American singer-songwriter and dancer.
“This collaboration is extremely meaningful for me, but I think it’s also meaningful for the world, because Usher hasn’t done something like this before - he’s never collaborated in this way with a young Black artist who is the same type of artist as him," he said of his collaboration with Usher for the Lullaby remix, which comes out on Friday, December 12.
JayDon went on to call the situation “mind-blowing” and speak highly of the There Goes My Baby crooner for believing in him and guiding him throughout the process.
"I was the second artist signed. There are only a few of us, so everything we’re doing feels completely new. I love that we’re creating something so original," the American Soul star shared.
On the professional front, JayDon voiced young Simba in Disney's The Lion King in 2019 and his first release with the Mega was I'll Be Good, which samples Usher's How Do I Say.
