Amy Winehouse's family is facing renewed heartbreak as a legal dispute over her estate has stirred up painful memories more than a decade after her death.
The beloved singer, whose meteoric rise was overshadowed by battles with addiction, died of alcohol poisoning in 2011 at just 27.
Following her passing, her father Mitch Winehouse inherited her multimillion-pound estate, estimated to be worth roughly $5 million.
According to a new report by RadarOnline.com, Mitch has now accused two of Amy's former flatmates of selling personal items that he claims did not belong to them.
Naomi Parry and Catriona Gourlay, both close friends of the Back to Black star, allegedly kept the proceeds from about 150 items that were sold.
Mitch has disputed the idea that his daughter would have gifted away such a large number of possessions, insisting the items were part of her estate.
He is reportedly seeking to recover the money so it can be donated to Amy's charity, which is working toward building a school in St. Lucia.
A source described the situation as a deeply painful ordeal for the family, saying, "This is such a sad, heartbreaking chapter in the rows over Amy's estate."
"Her life was tortured enough, and now her whole family feels this case is ripping open new wounds. It has left them reeling with pain and sorrow,” the source tipped.
