Bad Bunny falls on stage in Mexico City
Bad Bunny was performing live to his song 'Efecto'
Bad Bunny received warm support from the audience after a tumble during a performance on Wednesday.
The 31-year-old Grammy winner, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, was performing live and dancing to his song Efecto when he slipped. As he briefly sat down, the crowd made sure the performance went uninterrupted.
Fan videos show the audience singing along until he got back on his feet and resumed singing. He later gave the crowd a shout-out for the support.
The fall comes two months before Bad Bunny headlined the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show on February 8, 2026.
Bad Bunny’s selection as the Super Bowl Halftime headliner also drew criticism from some conservatives because he performs exclusively in Spanish.
He addressed the controversy in October while hosting Saturday Night Live.
“I’m very happy, and I think everyone is happy about it, even Fox News,” he joked, as clips of the network were edited to say, “Bad Bunny is my favourite musician, and he should be the next president.”
He continued, “But really, I’m very excited to be doing the Super Bowl, and I know people all around the world who love my music are also happy.”
In Spanish, he added, “Especially all of the Latinos and Latinas in the United States who have worked to open doors. It’s more than a win for myself, it’s a win for all of us. Our footprints and our contribution in this country…no one will ever be able to take that away or erase it.”
He closed his monologue with a smile. “If you didn’t understand what I just said, you have four months to learn.”
