SZA claims gov’t is using 'dark' tricks over her music use
SZA speaks out against the current administration for using the artists’ music for promoting their agenda
SZA, a well-known musician, is speaking out about what she claims was a "rage baiting" tactic by ICE officials after a song of hers was featured in a video by the law enforcement agency.
Taking to X, she pens, “White House rage baiting artists for free promo is PEAK DARK. Inhumanity + shock and aw[e] tactics ..Evil n Boring."
SZA is not the first artist to call out the Donald Trump administration for using their music without permission in their videos of arresting individuals whom officials call 'illegal immigrants'.
Kenny Loggins was among them. He blasted the White House for using his track Danger Zone for a video showing the president dropping poop on No Kings protestors.
“This is an unauthorized use of my performance of ‘Danger Zone.’ Nobody asked me for my permission, which I would have denied, and I request that my recording on this video be removed immediately,” he told Variety.
“I can’t imagine why anybody would want their music used or associated with something created with the sole purpose of dividing us. Too many people are trying to tear us apart, and we need to find new ways to come together.”
