Kate Middleton open to forgive Meghan Markle ahead of festive season
Kate Middleton wants her 2026 to be about peace as she is set to reach out to sister-in-law Meghan Markle
Kate Middleton is reportedly planning to call Meghan Markle ahead of the festive season in order to end their years-long rift.
According to Star Magazine, the Princess of Wales has had enough of their ongoing cold war and wants to enter 2026 with a peaceful mind.
A source told the publication that even though Kate and the Duchess of Sussex have “exchanged the occasional pleasantry” over the years, they are not exactly friends.
“Kate and Meghan have exchanged the occasional pleasantry over the last couple of years,” the insider shared with the publication. "[But] they aren’t on speaking terms. There’s been no meaningful conversation.”
But since Kate “wants 2026 to be her year of peace, in every area of her life,” she is open to reach out to Meghan and see if they can leave the past behind.
“And if that’s going to happen within her own extended family, she’s accepted she needs to reach out and wave the white flag,” the source said.
They further noted that Kate “does not want to drag this cold war into 2026,” adding that she has been saying that “maybe a phone call ahead of Christmas could be arranged to at least open the door towards some sort of forgiveness.”
