Hayley Erbert recalls survival battle as she prepares to welcome baby
The dancing pro called her pregnancy a 'miracle'
Hayley Erbert is "incredibly proud" of herself.
The 31-year-old dancer took to her Instagram account to mark the two-year anniversary of her health scare and shared her thoughts on how life has changed since then.
It is pertinent to mention that Hayley was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma and underwent an emergency craniectomy back in December 2023.
"Two years ago today, I was given a second chance at life through life-saving brain surgery," she began. "In these two years, I’ve gone through every human emotion imaginable, the kind that cracks you open and the kind that puts you back together."
Hayley, who tied the knot with Derek Hough in August 2023, announced in July that she is expecting her first baby with her husband, noting that she has
"reclaimed parts of myself I thought I’d never find again, rediscovered who I am, and moved through seasons of loss, triumph, joy, endless fear, grief, healing, and quiet hope."
The Dancing with the Stars pro went on to say, "It was a whirlwind to say the least.. But I’m truly grateful for it all, and so incredibly proud of myself and my body for everything it has endured."
"What a miracle it is that two years ago I was fighting for my life… and now, here I am creating life," she added.
