Kate Middleton received praises for her hands-on approach to parenting, ensuring her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, lead as normal a life as possible despite royal duties.

Speaking on it, royal expert Katie Nicholl said the Princess of Wales manages school runs, homework, play dates and family activities much like any other parent.

“Kate is a very loving mum, and she and William are great parents,” Nicholl told OK! Magazine “Behind closed doors, she juggles school drop-off, pick-up, homework, play dates, clubs and even tears, just like anybody else."

"People who see her out and about at clubs say she’s just like any working parent, in dressed-down jeans and flat pumps, without make-up," the expert added.

During an episode of Eugene Levy’s series, The Reluctant Traveler, Prince William revealed that that at their Windsor home, the kids enjoy everyday activities such as baking and playing, without distractions like phones.

“We sit and chat, none of the children have phones,” William said.

The expert further noted that Kate’s parenting style also helped her explain her recent illness to the children in an age-appropriate way.

“We know that William and Kate have a very honest relationship with their children and they were open with them about her cancer diagnosis,” she said.

Nicholl continued, “Kate is very well-schooled in the early years, and she would have been well-equipped for these difficult conversations.

“I think they did what they could to tell them in a way that children could understand, which didn’t completely terrify them.

“Throughout all of this, they have tried to keep their children safe and secure, and protect them from any media intrusion.”
