Ex-Prince Andrew’s actions create fresh headaches for royal family
Royal family upset as Andrew’s Windsor property deal comes under scrutiny
“Disgraced” ex-prince Andrew continues to be a major headache for the members of the royal family.
According to a new report, the former Duke of York has caused a new tension in the palace after Parliament said it will investigate his very low rent deal for the 30-room Royal Lodge in Windsor.
Speaking with Radar Online, palace sources said senior royals are upset and “furious” the inquiry could also draw attention to other royal homes across the UK.
It would even bring into focus family's properties abroad, including the King’s property in Romania.
"Everyone is on edge," said a source close to the royals. "They've seen what's happening with Andrew, and nobody wants to be next under the microscope.”
"There's real anger behind the palace walls – especially among those paying nominal rents on estates that could fetch millions on the open market,” they added.
"They feel Andrew has properly dropped them in it. It is the money that is winding them up the most, not his links to Epstein. It's always about the money with the royals."
"Everyone in the family knows these long-standing arrangements are now under the microscope. Andrew's situation has opened a door none of them anticipated."
After getting stripped of his royal titles due to his links to Jeffrey Epstein, Andrew will move next year to a home on King Charles’s Sandringham Estate.
