Prince Harry has his hopes up high to reunite with his cancer-stricken dad King Charles as officials review his security arrangements during visits to the UK.
According to latest reports, the Duke of Sussex requested an official assessment from the committee responsible for protecting members of the royal family and other public figures.
A source close to Harry revealed in October that he wrote to Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood following her appointment to formally ask for a risk assessment from the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec), which is managed by the Home Office.
And so, a formal security check has now been ordered for Harry for the first time in several years, reported The Sun.
“A decision is expected next month from the government body, which is overseen by the Home Office,” an insider told the publication.
“If it rules he requires armed protection then taxpayers would pay for it whenever he is in the UK,” they added.
If the Duke of Sussex get tax payer funded security, chances of him travelling to his home country to see the monarch again increases.
He last saw Charles during his September visit to the UK at the Clarence House over tea, which marked their first face-to-face interaction since February 2024
