Sean 'Diddy' Combs hits back at 50 Cent’s Netflix docuseries
The four-part series 'Sean Combs: The Reckoning' debuts on December 2
Sean “Diddy” Combs has condemned a new Netflix docuseries about his life, executive-produced by longtime rival 50 Cent, calling it a “shameful hit piece.”
The four-part series, Sean Combs: The Reckoning, debuts on December 2 and promises unseen footage of Combs and his inner circle amid his legal troubles.
Combs, currently serving a four-year sentence for prostitution-related charges, claims some footage in the series was stolen. A spokesperson said private moments, unfinished project materials, and legal discussions were taken without permission.
“Netflix relied on stolen footage that was never authorised for release,” the statement read. “Mr. Combs has been amassing footage since he was 19 to tell his own story, in his own way. It is fundamentally unfair, and illegal, for Netflix to misappropriate that work.”
The teaser features Combs on September 10, 2024, amid the heat of his federal sex crimes case, saying, “We’re losing,” and calling for help from “somebody that'll work with us that has dealt in the dirtiest of dirty business.”
The criticism comes shortly after 50 Cent and director Alexandria Stapleton promoted the series on Good Morning America.
Stapleton also told The Hollywood Reporter that all footage was obtained legally.
