John Slattery had already met his Nuremberg costar previously in Mad Men.
Speaking with People Magazine, the actor recalled his brief meeting with Colin Hanks in 2007 film.
Slattery shared, "We did [meet] briefly back then."
Adding, "I didn't have anything to do with him story-wise on the show, but we had met and chatted."
Slattery went on to praise Hanks, saying that he's a "great guy." The actor noted that they spent "a lot" of time together on Nuremberg.
In the film, Slattery stars as US Colonel Andrus, meanwhile, Hanks plays the role of psychologist Gustave Gilbert. Nuremberg in based on the nonfiction book The Nazi and the Psychiatrist by Jack El-Hai.
Furthermore, Slattery went on to talk about the film, saying, "It’s a great story to be involved with and had great people to work with. [Vanderbilt] had the money to produce it with some size and some scale, which doesn't happen a lot."
"They don't make movies like this anymore at this price point," he noted.
On the other hand, Slattery also talked about his bond with his costars. "It was a great group of people. We all got along well. Michael Shannon is a very funny guy. I've known Rami [Malek] for a while. We had a good time. It was grave during the day and it was heavy, but it was easy to let off steam after."
"I think we felt like the material was good and it was worth everybody's time. So we had a really good time," he noted.
Nuremberg, starring John Slattery and Colin Hanks was released on November 7, 2025.
