A date has finally been given to Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s move to Sandringham estate it seems.
For those unversed with the property, not only is it a Royal Family favorite, known to be the holiday home of choice for Christmas, but it is also one of the few properties the King manages with his private income rather than taxpayer funded pounds.
The insight has been offered to Heat World and according to a well placed insider, “as of now Andrew is biting his lip and towing the line ahead of his move to Sandringham,” because it’s “likely to be delayed until after the Christmas Holidays.”
A big reason for the delay is because “there are so many loose ends to tie up in the meantime and he’s still pushing for a severance package of some sort,” the source explained.
Reason being “the moving costs will be sizeable and he’ll need to make modifications to his new residence whilst getting himself set up.”
However, whats pertinent to mention is that “those talks are ongoing but for right now Andrew is already setting his belongings aside and earmarking what he’ll be taking with him versus those furnishings and decorations in Royal Lodge that aren’t his and will need to be left behind.”
For those unversed, the Royal Lodge as a whole “is filled with historical artefacts and keepsakes that are very much the property of the Royal Family,” so “he can’t very well waltz off into the sunset and leave it totally empty,” they concluded by saying.
Moreover, as it stands the former Duke has a six-figure settlement over his lease for the Lodge that is in line to be broken, in order to move him out of his 20-year home base that he’s had since his marriage to Sarah Ferguson in 1996.
