Taylor Lautner has recently opened up about his audition for Camp Rock before starring in hit Twilight franchise.
The American actor was joined by a member of Jonas Brothers on his and wife Taylor Dome podcast, The Squeeze.
Kevin Jonas, who is the eldest among his brothers, dished out exciting news about the upcoming Camp Rock 3.
This led Taylor to share the hilarious story of how he auditioned for the original Camp Rock but didn’t get the part back in the day.
“I didn’t only audition for Shane Gray character but I went through probably five callbacks and made it to the final three guys,” recalled the 33-year-old.
Abduction actor revealed that he did “chemistry reads with everybody, including Demo Lovato”.
However, he remembered “getting a call from my agent, saying, ‘hey Taylor, we have got bad news for you and I asked what’s that?’”
“They are going with Jonas Brothers and I was like, What? They weren’t even there. They are three people,” quipped the Grown Ups 2 star.
Earlier in an interview with Marie Claire, Taylor mentioned that his lack of singing and dancing abilities were the reasons that he didn’t get the role in Camp Rock.
Interestingly, the role of Shane Gray went to Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers, who auditioned after director Matthew Diamond went to see him live in concert due to Disney’s request.
Although, Taylor didn’t get the role in one of the best Disney Channel original movies of all-time, all was not lost for the actor.
Back in 2008, the actor got the role of Jacob Black in the YA vampire fantasy adaptation, Twilight, which later turned into a five-movie mega-franchise.
Meanwhile, Kevin discussed mental therapy, touring and family life with Taylor during his interview.
