Duchess Sophie holds key talks over distressing issue amid legal case
Duchess Sophie carries on King Charles orders as UK escort case gets update
Duchess of Edinburgh undertook an important meeting regarding a crucial issue during her extensive Latin America tour.
Sophie, who has been dubbed as King Charles’s ‘secret weapon’, discussed the opportunities and well-being for women in Guatemala and also the harrowing issue of human trafficking.
The meeting came just a day after a court case in UK, involving Sophie’s name, received a major twist.
The 60-year-old royal has actively advocated for the protection of victims of abuse in her extensive work as patron to several charities.
Sophie continued with her mission to spread the message as an update from the British embassy and the Guatemala Vice President Karin Herrera.
“We had a dialogue with Her Royal Highness, Duchess Sophie of Edinburgh, about common causes and objectives,” the message stated. “Together with my team we share the efforts that Guatemala promotes in the fight against human trafficking, the comprehensive well-being of Early Childhood and the expansion of opportunities for women.”
She continued, “We are confident that this approach will open ways to collaborate on initiatives that promote the well-being of the Guatemalan population.”
On Thursday, it was revealed that the jury had acquitted the police officer part of Sophie’s motorcycle convoy in 2023 for the death of 81-year-old senior citizen Helen Holland.
However, the family of the victim has decided to sue the force they find the verdict blamed the beloved grandmother of 10. The family is “not interested” in compensation but want to prove that Helen was innocent in the incident.
Sophie has not yet made a comment on the ongoing matter.
