Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively’s legal battle has sparked polarising narratives among the general public and industry insiders alike, and one of them has come to light only now.
The 41-year-old filmmaker and actor recently submitted text messages as evidence in court and brought new details to the surface, one of which was a group chat including Baldoni, Travis Van Winkle, Andy Grammer, Jamey Heath, and Rainn Wilson.
The Office star allegedly sided with Baldoni, according to the text messages, in which he argued that the Jane the Virgin actor was “set up” by Lively and Ryan Reynolds.
When Baldoni described his interaction with the Deadpool star, Wilson wrote back, “Oh my God. I can’t believe it. You were set up and ambushed and personally attacked. I’m stunned. I completely relate to you being stunned, like a deer in the Headlights.”
He continued, “Probably better that you didn’t immediately. Just start apologizing. So grateful that Jamey is your partner, and could step in diplomatically as needed.”
Lively and Baldoni’s heated lawsuit is headed for trial in March 2026, but there has been no clear breakthrough on either side yet.
