Brian Jordan Alvarez, the creator and star of TV series, English Teacher, is once again in hot water.
The assault claims against him by his fellow co-star and friend Jon Ebeling has resurfaced resulting in cancelation of the TV show after two seasons.
According to a detailed December 2024 investigation by Vulture, Ebeling alleges several instances of non-consensual sexual activity that occurred both off-set and during filming of the web series The Gay and Wondrous Life of Caleb Gallo, which Alvarez directed.
In response, Alvarez, through his attorney Michael J. Kump, has denied the allegations and characterised them as misinterpretations of consensual past sexual interactions.
He stated that Ebeling "enthusiastically gave consent" during the encounter and argues that his friend is "a self-described manipulator" distorting the narrative.
The show was first premiered in 2024 and then got renewed for season two in early 2025. But in November 2025 the network announced it would not return for a third season.
With the accusations resurfaced, the show despite being critically acclaimed cancelled after two seasons, leaving the fans mourning the loss.
English Teacher follows Evan Marquez (Brian Jordan Alvarez), a high school English teacher in Austin that navigates several personal and political scandals at work.
The cast also included Stephanie Koenig, Sean Patton, Carmen Christopher, Enrico Colantoni and Jordan Firstman.
The show stood out for its sharp humour and emotional honesty, making it one of the most beloved niche sitcoms of recent times.
One of the disappointed fan on X (formerly Twitter) said, "Man that sucks for all of the other actors who are now out of a promising job because of a goddamn creeper."
While many other fans protested against it, the show is set to remain cancelled.
