Russia unveils the first humanoid AI-powered robot that immediately collapses on stage amid its launch debut.
The Russian humanoid robot was unveiled during a highly anticipated showcase that ended in disaster.
Footage shows the moment Russia’s first anthropomorphic robot fell during its debut at a technology event at the Yarovit Hall Congress Centre in Moscow, Russia on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
The bot wobbled and face-planted on the floor as the machine toppled onstage after taking initial steps to music.
It was Russia’s first AI-powered humanoid robot.
The robot named as "AIDOL" staggered out on stage triumphantly to the Rocky theme song in front of a crowd and a team of more than 50 journalists.
Whilst entertaining the audience, the bot’s machine suddenly shuffled to the left and waved to the audience.
While the wave appeared to cause the robot to lose its balance and stumble before falling to the floor.
The abrupt fall caused pieces of the machine to fall off and clatter across the stage.
As reported by the journalists present at the event, organizers said the possible reason for the fall could be due to lighting, voltage fluctuation and calibration or tuning complications.
AIDOL’s chief executive Vladimir Vitukhin told the local media that it was not the "final model" and the "robot was still in the stages of learning."
“I hope this mistake will turn into an experiment,” said Vitukhin CEO Russian robotic firm AIDOL.
Moreover, the developers said that it was a basic model set for improvements and developments along the way.
They informed, that the company had made a huge investment in the AI-powered humanoid robot’s face and technology to more closely mimic humans.
According to the AIDOL developers, the robot was said to be equipped to walk, handle objects and communicate, with their sights set on it-being a presence in homes and for businesses.
The developers said, “I think they were just unlucky” to not perform well.
By Russia’s new technological collation, the robot was developed in August 2025.
The collation was led by Promobot, a robotic firm known for its hyper-realistic Android busts and its service robots designed for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The robot’s manufacturing was initiated as the Soviet Union aims to proceed for the humanoid robot race as "Tesla" and "Figure AI."
