Are Robert Irwin and Xochitl Gomez the Next 'DWTS' power duo?

Robert Irwin and Xochitl Gomez sparked romance rumours with their latest move at Dancing With the Stars.

Gomez, who returned to DWTS for show’s 20th birthday celebration episode, hit the dance floor with Irwin as part of a dance relay that helped him gain two bonus points.

As per the Swoon magazine, following the performance, judge Derek Hough commented on their "chemistry," sparking a buzz among fans as they began shipping them.

Fans took to X, with one person writing, "ROBERT AND XOCHITL?!?!! I KNOW CHEMISTRY WHEN I SEE IT!!!"

"If I can’t have Robert Irwin, the only acceptable person who can have him is Xochitl," another user commented.

Gomez in conversation with Entertainment Tonight shared her feelings about returning to the ballroom floor.

She said that she is "excited" and happy to have "the best partner to dance with tonight."

Gomez went on to rave about her dance partner, Irwin, saying that she admires his energy.

"We had a rehearsal without Witney [Carson] because they were filming something special, so it was just Robert and I for three hours," she recalled.

Gomez added that Carson might have taught Irwin few steps "because he was drilling me". 

She said, "He was like, in the nicest way possible, he’s like 'I think you need to like pick it up a little more' I was like 'oh' I was like 'well you’re talking to a former dance champion but I’ve never danced with style sooo you can teach me.'"

Gomez and Irwin were up against Alix Earle and Joey Graziadei in a Jive Reley. Although the judges had tough time deciding the winner, ultimately the duo won.
