Rosé breaks records with landmark Grammy nominations for 'APT'
Rosé bags three Grammy nominations this year; highlight being her collaborative song with Bruno Mars, 'APT'
Rosé has officially made Grammy Awards history.
The 28-year-old Blackpink singer became the first K-pop idol to have a song nominated in the Grammys’ main six general field categories — album of the year, record of the year, song of the year, best new artist, producer of the year (non-classical), and songwriter of the year (non-classical).
Rosé and her collaborator Bruno Mars received nominations for record of the year and song of the year for their hit single APT, along with a nod for best pop duo/group performance.
The achievement cements Rosé’s status as one of the most globally recognised K-pop artists of her generation.
“I’m getting chills right now,” Rosé told The Hollywood Reporter earlier this year when asked about potentially making history. “I think it’ll be a moment that proves to myself so many things that I grew up doubting. I think if this happens, then it’s going to mean more to so many more people than myself. It’ll just prove a lot in me as well. It’ll just be a moment of celebration for everyone who believes.”
In addition to her Grammy recognition, Rosé won Song of the Year at the MTV VMAs for APT, which spent an impressive 45 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100.
The track appears on her debut solo album Rosie, released in December 2024, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.
Her groundbreaking nominations, alongside those for KPop Demon Hunters and girl group KATSEYE, mark a major milestone for K-pop’s growing dominance in the global music industry — a path first paved by BTS’s historic Grammy nod in 2021 for Dynamite.
