Jennifer Lawrence revealed how her postpartum challenges helped in connecting more deeply with the character in Die, My Love.

Lawrence, who is mother of a three-year-old son Cy, gave birth to another baby boy earlier this year.

The Hunger Games star plays a new mom struggling with the weight of motherhood in the film.

During her appearance at the New York City, for the premiere of her new film Die, My Love, she opened up about how her personal experience provided her with a more nuanced perspective while approaching the character.

"I didn't really end up having really bad postpartum [anxiety] until my second [baby]," she told the People Magazine. "I think that just added another layer."

The No Hard Feelings star went on to explain, "I mean, I don't think that you have to have kids to play a parent by any means, but having that information about, you know, what a tiny person needs, and is looking for."

She added, "Just having that information was helpful."

Last month, the Oscar winner, in conversation with The New Yorker, shared what her stress felt like.

Lawrence said that every time her baby used to be sleeping she used to think he is dead and when he used to cry she used to think he "didn’t like his life, or me, or his family. I thought I was doing everything wrong, and that I would ruin my children".
