Prince Andrew defiles Royal Lodge by hosting Epstein, Weinstein, Maxwell
Andrew invited the convicted sex offenders to his daughter Beatrice's 18th birthday bash at the Windsor mansion
Prince Andrew has permanently tainted his family home of Royal Lodge, lovingly gifted to him by his late mother Queen Elizabeth II, as he reportedly awaits his eviction.
The BBC reported on Monday, October 27, that the disgraced Duke of York hosted Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and Harvey Weinstein at the Royal Lodge for Princess Beatrice’s 18th birthday in 2006. The trio reportedly stayed at the Windsor mansion ahead of the masked ball festivities, which took place later that evening inside Windsor Castle.
The invitation came just two months after U.S. authorities issued an arrest warrant for Epstein on charges of sexually assaulting a minor. He was arrested in Florida only eight days after the party.
While earlier reports suggested the disgraced financier and his associates attended the event at Windsor Castle, the BBC verified that the pre-party gathering occurred at Prince Andrew’s private home. The outlet confirmed the location by matching trees and patio walls visible in photos of Epstein, Maxwell, and Weinstein to those at Royal Lodge.
Prince Andrew has previously defended inviting Epstein to the party, claiming he wasn’t aware of his arrest warrant which was issued in the US just two months prior.
When asked in a 2009 BBC Newsnight interview why Epstein was invited, Andrew said, “Certainly I wasn't aware when the invitation was issued what was going on in the United States and I wasn't aware until the media picked up on it because he never said anything about it.”
At the time, Beatrice’s mother and Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson wasn’t living at the Royal Lodge. However, she was in attendance along with Beatrice’s younger sister Eugenie.
Now, both Andrew and Sarah are facing a possible eviction after relinquishing their Duke and Duchess of York titles due to their continued ties to Epstein.
