Frankie Muniz has sparked excitement among fans after sharing a behind-the-scenes photo from the set of the upcoming Malcolm in the Middle revival.

The snap showed him reunited with his on-screen brothers, Justin Berfield and Christopher Masterson.

Posting on X, Muniz wrote, “I was told not to post this yet, but then I remembered the theme song. I’m just too excited for y’all to see the new episodes and I miss my brothers.”

The clever reference to the show’s original theme song, performed by They Might Be Giants, had fans instantly nostalgic.

The revival, titled Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair, nods to the theme’s famous opening lyric and will debut on Disney+ in 2026.

The series brings back Muniz as Malcolm, the third of five brothers in the famously chaotic suburban family, with Berfield returning as Reese and Masterson as Francis.

Longtime fans will also see familiar faces, including Bryan Cranston reprising his beloved role as Hal and Jane Kaczmarek returning as the no-nonsense matriarch Lois.

Other returning cast members include Craig Lamar Traylor as Malcolm’s best friend, Stevie Kenarban; Gary Anthony Williams as Stevie’s father, Abe; Emy Coligado as Francis’ wife, Piama; and David Anthony Higgins as Lois’ coworker, Craig Feldspar.

While Erik Per Sullivan, who originally played Dewey, is not returning, the role will now be portrayed by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark.

The youngest brother, Jamie, who was just a toddler by the end of the original series, will be played by Anthony Timpano.

The revival also introduces a new youngest sibling, Kelly, a nonbinary character portrayed by Vaughan Murrae, marking a fresh addition to the family dynamic.

New faces joining the mix include Kiana Madeira as Malcolm’s girlfriend, Tristan, and Keeley Karsten as his daughter, Leah, hinting at how far the once-gifted boy genius has come.

With its mix of nostalgia, humour, and a modern family twist, Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair looks ready to rekindle the offbeat charm that made the original series a fan favourite.

For those who grew up watching the misadventures of Malcolm and his family, this reunion is set to be one of the most anticipated comebacks of 2026.
