Queen Camilla and Charles meet school children before King attends Pontifical Beda College
King Charles waters commemorative orange tree during Pontifical Beda College visit
King Charles and Queen Camilla capped off a momentous Vatican visit with a warm and personal touch, greeting local schoolchildren, members of the public, and congregants outside the Basilica of St Paul’s Outside the Walls.
Following this public meet and greet, the King continued engagements at Pontifical Beda College, where he met trainee priests from across the Commonwealth, British nationals serving in the Vatican, and ambassadors to the Holy See.
He was seen watering an orange tree planted to commemorate his and Queen Camilla’s historic visit, a symbolic gesture celebrating growth, life, and the enduring ties between the British monarchy and the Vatican.
Meanwhile, Queen Camilla held a separate audience with nuns working in education and anti-trafficking initiatives. This marks the conclusion of their two-day state visit to the Holy See.
Though Charles and Camilla have concluded their audience with Pope Leo XIV, the pontiff’s day of engagements continues.
He is now participating in the World Meeting of Popular Movements, an international summit that brings together delegations from across the globe to discuss pressing issues such as land, housing, and work.
The event is being held in the Paul VI Hall at the Vatican.
