Emma Stone spills 'Spider-Man' secret Andrew Garfield kept from her

Emma Stone is spilling the beans from the time when her former lover and The Amazing Spider-Man costar Andrew Garfield got sneaky.
The Poor Things star confirmed that the 42-year-old actor constantly lied to her about his involvement in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
In a Monday, October 20, episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, host Josh Horowitz asked her if the two-time Academy Awards nominee had kept his secret role in the 2021 Marvel film completely under wraps, even from her.
"I asked him if he was going to be in that," the Cruella lead recalled, "and he was like, 'I don't know what you're talking about.'"
She continued, "I was like, 'What? Oh, I guess that means no, right?' But it wasn't no, it was yes."
The 36-year-old agreed with the host, saying it showed the actor’s "dedication," adding, “I know, good for him. He kept it really close to the vest."
Previously, the After The Hunt actor said Stone jokingly called him "a jerk" when she found out he lied about his cameo in No Way Home, about which he kept his lips sealed until the film hit theaters.
Garfield made a brief appearance in No Way Home alongside original Spider-Man Tobey Maguire and the franchise's current headliner, Tom Holland.
For the unversed, the Social Network actor and the Oscar winner dated for four years after meeting on the set of the first Amazing Spider-Man movie, starred them as Peter Parker/ Spider-man and Gwen Stacy, respectively, before splitting in 2015, and have remained friendly in the years since.
Stone is now married to former Saturday Night Live writer Dave McCary, with whom she shares four-year-old daughter Louise Jean McCary, and Garfield is currently dating A Complete Unknown actress Monica Barbaro.
