Queen Camilla, Zara Tindall shine at Ascot amid royal turmoil
Queen Camilla and Zara Tindall project calm at Ascot during challenging time for monarchy
Queen Camilla and Zara Tindall made a graceful appearance at Ascot Racecourse over the weekend, offering a composed and elegant front as the Royal Family grapples with renewed scrutiny surrounding Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.
Attending the prestigious QIPCO British Champions Day, Queen Camilla was the picture of refinement in a soft powder-blue ensemble. Her structured jacket, featuring delicate scalloped edging at the hem, was paired seamlessly with a matching skirt.
She completed the look with a cream hat adorned with a blue ribbon, neutral court shoes, a taupe handbag, and a moonstone brooch — a gemstone traditionally linked to calm and balance — as she warmly greeted racegoers.
Zara Tindall brought her signature poise in a chic navy and burgundy outfit. She wore a £435 tailored wool jacket and matching £325 skirt from The Fold London, paired with a deep burgundy shirt.
Her accessories — a £195 Bee Smith petal headband, £276 Van Peterson ruby drop earrings, burgundy suede boots, and Dune London’s £109 Dedicated Shoulder Bag — echoed the same rich tone, tying the ensemble together flawlessly.
Their appearance came at a sensitive time for the monarchy. On Friday, Prince Andrew confirmed he would no longer use his royal titles, including Duke of York, amid intensified public focus on his ties to the late Jeffrey Epstein.
Sarah Ferguson, his former wife, will also no longer use the Duchess of York title. Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed they are “actively looking into” allegations that Prince Andrew asked a taxpayer-funded bodyguard to investigate Virginia Giuffre, his accuser.
A Palace source told GB News that such claims "should be examined in an appropriate way."
