Prince William shut down naysayers as brutal claims were made about his destined role following Prince Harry’s private meeting with King Charles.
There were reports of simmering tensions between the monarch and the Prince of Wales especially over losing focus on the most basic aspect of their roles: royal duties. William was accused of prioritising family too much over his job by many experts.
Moreover, the Duke of Sussex’s UK tour also earned massive praise as he attended events concerning his patronages.
Although, it seems that William bounced back and reclaimed his spotlight from estranged brother, with a major achievement. DailyMail’s Richard Eden revealed that William had raised a sum of £24million for his Earthshot Prize in a just one year’s time.
The milestone also comes after royal biographer Tina Brown criticised William’s work ethic and his charity work being on an “underwhelming” scale.
William had seemingly taught a crucial to work smartly rather than the traditional way of the royals with a large number of engagements.
Eden noted that William’s Earthshot prize, which was founded in 2020, has “global pulling power” and “three densely packed pages” worth of donors for the cause.
In its latest financial year – ending March 31, 2025 – hit £24 million, its highest to date, according to accounts just filed at Companies House.
Eden stated that this achievement would “validate his preference for concentrating on the calibre and potential of the causes he supports rather than trying to please too many people too much of the time.”
British-American journalist, magazine editor Tina Brown previously said that despite his cancer battle, Charles had “carried out official engagements on 175 days during the past 12 months”.
Meanwhile, William had “five confirmed family vacations in the past seven months”.
The King is “currently less irritated with the prodigal Harry than he is with his elder son and heir”, given how William has been handling his role as the Prince of Wales.
As far as Harry is concerned, William believes that Harry is using his meeting with the King to find a way back to the royal fold via his existing royal status. Prince William and Prince Harry remain firmly estranged from each other.
It remains to be seen how things would pan out between the two siblings in the near future, as Harry is expected to make more frequent visits to the UK.
