Phoenix Mercury extend win streak to five with 85-79 victory over Indiana Fever

The Phoenix Mercury found form at the right time and recorded their fifth victory in a row with an 85- 79 win over the Indiana Fever at PHX Arena on Tuesday night, September 02, 2025.

Alyssa Thomas led the way with 23 points, nine rebounds and nine assists, hardly missing her eight-triple double of the season. Dewanna Bonner added 19 points off the bench, while Satou Sabally chipped in with 13 points.
For Fever, Kelsey Mitchell has 25 points alongside four assists and four steals. Lexie Hull contributed 15 points and five rebound, while Aliyah Boston had 11 points and eight rebounds.
Minnesota Lynx, Las Vegas Aces, Atlanta Dream and Phoenix Mercury have all qualified for the playoffs. The Fever, sitting at 21-22, are still in contention for one of four remaining playoff spots, with three games remaining in the regular season.
The Fever cut the lead to single digits, but the Mercury held strong, entering the final period up 67- 57. Kahleah Copper compactly left with a foot injury but returned later.
Phoenix held off Indian’s late drive to seal the victory. Several Phoenix Sun players, including Devin Booker, Jalen Green and Dillion Brooks, were spotted courtside.
Star rookie Caitlin Clark missed her 19th straight game with groin injury and has no verified return date. The Fever were also without Chloe Bibby, Aari McDonald, Sydney Colson and Sophie Cunningham, all sidelined with injuries.
