Princess Alexandra remains 'ONLY' Royal to reject Kensington Palace life
Princess lives in Thatched House Lodge, a Grade listed II listed property in Richmond Park
Kensington Palace has long served as a traditional residence for the British royal family.
Today, an apartment in the palace serves as the primary London residence for Prince William and Princess Kate.
Now, the palace has announced that the royal couple, along with their children George, Charlotte, and Louis will be moving to Forest Lodge.
Building work has already started, and the Wales family is expected to move in by the Christmas, reported The Mirror.
It has also been reported that Princess Kate will have access to select furniture from an enormous warehouse located on the grounds of Windsor Castle.
Speaking on the Daily Mail's Palace Confidential podcast, royal author Richard Kay said: 'It has eight bedrooms and the princess has indeed been looking for the appropriate furniture from the storage unit known as California store.'
However, one British royal has completely shunned the tradition of living in Kensington Palace.
Princess Alexandra was the only one to break tradition. The 88-year-old lives in her beloved Thatched House Lodge, a Grade listed II listed property in Richmond Park.
For context, the Princess is the only daughter of Prince George and Princess Marina and a first cousin of Elizabeth II.
This comes after she made a notable appearance to witness her grandson's commissioning ceremony at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
She was joined by her family members, including Alexander Charles, Ogilvy's parents, James and Julia Ogilvy.
