Taylor Swift has been an inspiration to Maisie Peters for her songwriting as she has shared in various interviews, so performing at her show was a big deal for the popstar.
The 25-year-old songstress thought long and hard about what to give to the pop superstar, 35, as a present and she finally settled at a selection of books from her beloved bookshop.
The History Of Man hitmaker looked back at her experience opening the Wembley show at the record-breaking tour on her twinhood podcast, saying, “when I was very luck and got to be a support on the Eras Tour, I really wanted to get Doctor Taylor Swift a present to say thank you.”
However, there was one problem, “what do you get the woman who has everything?”
Ultimately, Peters decided on “a poetry book by Wendy Cope, The Idiot by Elif Batuman, and Bluebeard’s Egg by Margaret Atwood,” along with a tote bag from London’s famous Brick Lane Bookshop.”
The Worst Of You songstress also wrote the 14-time-Grammy winner a letter, and gave her the presents when she met her.
When asked why she thought these books would be the best gift for the Love Story songstress, Peters replied, “she writes in such a lyrical, poetic way and I know she reads poetry,” adding, “I thought maybe she hasn’t read this and maybe she’ll like it.”
Peters opened the Wembley stadium show on August 19, 2024, and Swift herself gushed over her performance, as she said, "She is amazing, she is absolutely incredible, crushed it on this stage, love her songwriting so much!
