Ismail Azizi: The man who ‘can’t die’

When the billionaires are spending millions to achieve anti-aging, striving to make their stay on this Earth a little longer, there is an African man who lives with the fear that “he can’t die”.

Ismail Azizi from Tanzania has reportedly been declared medically dead on six separate occasions and every time he was revived.

Azizi, now 41, has survived malaria, a workplace accident, a car crash, a snakebite, a fall into a pit and a housefire.

This unprecedented survival has fueled the belief among some that Azizi is a ghost or an immortal.

A documentary by Arfimax titled, “I woke up at my own funeral six times, now everyone thinks I am a ghost,” chronicles his incredible story.

The documentary details all six instances when Azizi was declared dead.

1- Workplace Accident:

When he was first declared dead, it was after he suffered a workplace accident and his body was taken to the morgue. To everyone’s bewilderment, he regained consciousness and walked out of the morgue onto the streets.

2- Death by Malaria:

He was declared dead again after catching malaria and this time he made it all to the coffin before yet again waking up.

3- Death by car accident:

This third time he was declared to have passed away by medical professionals after sustaining a car accident which put him into coma but just like the previous examples he woke up again.

4- Death by bite of venomous snake

Azizi died for the fourth time after being bitten by a venomous snake and this time he spent three days in a morgue. The family thought that he had finally died, however, when they went to retrieve his body for the funeral, Azizi woke up again.

5- Death by falling into a toilet pit

He was declared dead again for the fifth time after falling into a toilet pit but came back again.

The fifth revival reportedly scared the community so much that they started believing him to be a ghost and decided to burn his house down with him inside in a bid to put him to permanent sleep for the sixth and final time.

6- Death by house fire

The community burned his house down and thought that he was dead but baffling everyone Azizi walked out of the house again.

Speaking about how people treat him, Azizi advised his community, “Live well even if you have problems. Put God first and don’t hurt those around you. Because sometimes what happens is beyond their control.”

Azizi now lives in isolation in a house without any neighbours unable to get a job because of the stigma surrounding him.
