Taylor Swift missing from funeral as Travis Kelce's family mourns
Taylor Swift and her boyfriend Travis Kelce skipped the funeral of his father's girlfriend, who passed last week
Taylor Swift was a no-show as the Kelce family gathered to say goodbye to a loved one.
According to photos obtained by TMZ, Jason Kelce and his wife Kylie were seen attending the funeral of Ed Kelce’s longtime girlfriend, Maureen Anne Maguire, on Friday, August 8. But Travis and his superstar girlfriend were notably absent, as confirmed by Daily Mail.
Jason and Kylie, dressed in understated black, arrived at the St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania, just before the service began. The couple live just a short drive away in Haverford and were among the last mourners to enter the church.
Travis, meanwhile, was spotted at Kansas City Chiefs training camp in Missouri, gearing up for the new NFL season.
“I love it here,” the tight end told reporters. “It gets me away from everything else that’s going on in this crazy world.”
“Football has always been the biggest driving force I’ve ever had,” he added. “I love coming out here and focusing on this and getting better for another run at hopefully a Super Bowl.”
Swift’s absence comes despite her past bond with Maguire, who once joked to the popstar, “Hey, that’s my boyfriend,” after she posed for a selfie with Ed.
The multi-Grammy-winner was also featured in Ed’s post on Maguire’s obituary page last week. The trip was all smiles as they posed side-by-side dressed in Travis’s team Kansas City Chiefs gear.
