Anna Wintour’s ‘too tacky’ Dolly Parton snub revealed

Anna Wintour said no to Dolly Parton’s Vogue moment.

According to Radar Online, the longtime Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour once passed over the country music legend for a Vogue cover, thought that Dolly was “too tacky.”

As an insider revealed to the outlet that "Anna thought Dolly was too country, too camp and too tacky for Vogue."

Adding, "She looked at Dolly and saw rhinestones. The rest of America saw an icon. Anna completely missed it."

It noted, "That's what makes the Dolly snub look ridiculous today,"

"Vogue eventually embraced reality stars, influencers and billionaire glamour, but somehow Dolly Parton wasn't sophisticated enough? Please," the source further noted.

The claims come as Anna faces criticism over her recent Met Gala choices involving Jeff Bezos and John Galliano who has a history of controversial racist and anti-semitic remarks.

Moreover, it is said by the celebrity journalist Rob Shutter that Anna gave similar treatment to other major stars as well including Jessica Simpson, Alicia Keys and Jennifer Lopez before eventually changing her mind.

The legendary singer died at the age of 80 in late August this year after a brief battle with cancer at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Centre in Nashville, Tennessee. However, the iconic singer left behind a remarkable legacy.
