The gaming news outlets like PCGamesN, Eurogamer, and IGN reported: "Battlefield 6 has almost 250,000 people waiting in an open beta queue."
The early access period is open for a limited group of players. Despite this limited access, the player count on Steam alone reached 300,000 concurrent players.
The increasing demand for the game led to server issues. DICE, the developer of Battlefield 6, has acknowledged the growing problem. He said that the team has been “working on a substantial increase in server capacity, which will reduce your time in the queue.”
The community hype was so high that even before the launch of beta, reportedly more than 40,000 people were sitting in the main menu of the game waiting for the server to go live.
Fans gave a mixed response to Battlefield 2024; therefore, an open beta is an important step for the company to regain its credibility. The direct feedback from the fans will determine the game design.
The game returned to its roots, showing a modern military setup with a classic system of four roles: Assault, Recon, Support, and Engineer.
Battlefield 6 introduced new features under the Kinesthetic Combat System to make combat feel more fluid and dynamic. This includes features such as Drag and Revive and Weapon Mounting.
A review from a writer of Eurogamer says, “I think the building blocks for a truly fantastic Battlefield game are here with Battlefield 6 – perhaps even an all-time great – but I need to see a little more, need to play a little more.”
Electronic Arts (EA) learned from the past mistakes of Battlefield 2042. This time, they will include features like the traditional class system and scoreboard from the very first day.
The game is set to launch on October 10, 2025, on platforms like Xbox Series, PC, and PlayStation 5. However, it will not be launched on older consoles like the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
