Blake Shelton makes rare comment about his music legacy
American singer reveals what he thinks about his music in a candid interview
Blake Shelton has recently reflected on his music legacy and hopes his music would not be covered in the future.
In a new interview with Taste of Country Nights, the musician opened up that he likes his wife Gwen Stefani’s rendition over the original ones.
“I hope nobody ever remakes any of my music, because I know that will happen to me,” said the 49-year-old.
Blake continued, “People will be like, 'Oh my God, way better than Blake.’”
It is pertinent to mention that the singer reportedly garnered an impressive total of 30 No.1 hits on the Billboard charts.
Earlier this month, Blake teamed up with Noah Cyrus on her latest single New Country. The musician’s second single, Stay Country or Die Tryin, debuted its music video back in June.
Blake, who went public with Gwen in late 2015 and tied the knot in 2021, was involved in controversy back in May after their American Music Awards performance.
Meanwhile, viewers slammed the show after finding out that the duo’s performances were pre-taped for the awards.
Blake eventually took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to address the criticism he and Gwen received for not performing live at the awards show.
“Just now seeing these stories about Gwen and I pre-taping our performances for the AMA’s. We came and performed when the show asked us to… Really nothing else to say,” he wrote.
