Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey speaks up over the devastating floods in Texas
Matthew McConaughey has recently extended words of kindness after the devastating floods that killed dozens in Texas.
The Interstellar actor, who was himself born in Uvalde Texas, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and shared his thoughts in a heartfelt note.
“'At least 70 lives have been lost, many more are unaccounted for, and countless Texans are hurting - inside and out,” wrote the 55-year-old.
The Oscar winner also urged his fans to lend a helping hand for all those affected by these horrible floods, almost killing 82 people.
“If you're able, please lend a helping hand where and how you can,” continued the Oscar winner.
The Dallas Buyers Club actor stated, “It's gonna be a long road ahead, but right now the shock, the pain, and the chaos need the steady hand of a neighbour.”
“Texans are some of the most resilient and generous people on the planet,” he added.
Besides Matthew, many other stars also showed their support to people of Texas over the last weekend.
Jennifer Garner, who was born in Houston, shared a moving note on Sunday, writing on her Instagram Stories, “Texas. God, be near.”
Meanwhile, Shakira also announced that she would be donating proceeds from her San Antonio concert to Catholic Charities of San Antonio.
