Kate Middleton, who is still reeling from the effects of her cancer treatment, took a decisive step for her husband and future King, Prince William.
The Princess of Wales made a poignant appearance at a NHS hospital last week as she shared a rare insight into how her cancer has affected.
During the visit, the future Queen had planted the ‘Catherine’s Rose’ at the RHS Wellbeing Garden in Colchester Hospital to bring moments of peace to the support staff and patients.
As Princess Kate got candid about her challenges in her cancer journey, she also chose to honour Prince William – whom Kate had lauded has claimed to be amazing support during her ordeal.
Catherine chose to wear her sapphire engagement ring, which once belonged to Princess Diana. She also paired it with Cartier Ballon Bleu watch – a third wedding anniversary gift from Prince William, noted jewellery expert Tobias Kormind.
“Poignantly dressed in the same blazer she wore for her first portrait post her 2024 diagnosis announcement, the Princess of Wales opted for sentimental pieces for her hospital visit,” the expert told GB News.
He pointed out that Kate deliberately chose her engagement ring – which is sometimes amiss during public engagements following her cancer battle – and William’s special gift.
The expert suggested that Kate’s whole outfit was deeply personal since she also complemented it with a “delicate necklace, which featured her birthstone, a garnet, nestled at its centre”.
During the meaningful visit, Kate, who has been in remission since September last year, admitted that her cancer battle had been “really, really difficult”.
“You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment. Treatment’s done, then it's like, ‘I can crack on, get back to normal’, but actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult.”
She noted that after treatment, you’re not necessarily “able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to”.
